• We would like to inform the public of upcoming temporary closures along the Still River Brookfield, Connecticut Still River Greenway due to necessary tree cutting operations.
  
  Location:
  Between Silvermine Road and Route 7, Brookfield, CT
  
  Closure Dates:
  Thursday–Friday, April 9–10
  Monday–Tuesday, April 13–14
  
  The trail will reopen for the weekend in between these dates.
  
  Important Notices:
  
  The trail will be closed at the marked locations shown in the map.
  The parking lot will also be closed during active work periods, as access leads directly through the work zone.
  Closures are necessary to ensure public safety during tree removal operations.
  
  About the Work:
  This work is part of Eversource’s statewide Transmission Reliability Right of Way Program (TRRP). This program involves the systematic removal of incompatible vegetation within the easement and fee-owned limits of the right of way (ROW) to reduce outage risks from trees and branches falling into the transmission system.
  
  Incompatible species are any trees or shrubs that reach a mature height greater than 15 feet. In addition, TRRP removes interfering trees, shrubs, and vines from the maintained ROW that could impede physical or visual access for inspection and maintenance.
  
  Desirable low-growing vegetation—such as native grasses, wildflowers, ferns, and shrubs—will be preserved wherever possible.
