Affinity Esports (Newtown Studio)
We Are Affinity Esports and we are on a mission to create safe spaces for happier and healthier gaming experiences.
Through our recreational programs, your children are introduced to the world of esports, full of new and emerging career paths, experiential learning, and highly engaging social activities. Each of these programs has been structured to reinforce critical life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and problem solving. Through their time with us, we will guide your children to build healthy habits and harness their passion with an extreme commitment to balancing wellness, education, mentality, competition, and socialization. Esports have been linked to powerful outcomes, such as improved social and emotional skills, problem solving, future career viability, and academic performance.

Programs listed below take place the Affinity Sports Studio in Sandy Hook. Click here for directions.
Content Creation: Live Streaming & Video Editing
Participants learn how digital content moves from idea to finished piece. Through hands-on projects, they explore live-stream setup, scenes and overlays, cameras, microphones, lighting, audio, gameplay capture, and basic video editing. They also practice planning content, communicating responsibly online, giving and receiving feedback, and presenting their work. No prior experience is required, and the class is a starting point for future Affinity media programs.
Game Creation: Coding & Pixel Art
Participants learn how games come together through beginner-friendly coding, game design, and pixel art. They build a simple game project, create original characters and artwork, and test and improve their work with classmates. Along the way, they practice problem-solving, planning, persistence, collaboration, and basic computer skills. The program concludes with a showcase for family and friends. No prior experience is required.
D&D and Tabletop Gaming
Participants explore Dungeons & Dragons and a rotating mix of tabletop games in a welcoming, social setting. They create characters, learn rules and strategy, and work together through an ongoing adventure guided by a Game Master. Along the way, they practice imagination, storytelling, problem-solving, patience, cooperation, and speaking up in a group. New and experienced players are welcome, and the season concludes with a finale families are invited to attend.
Social Gaming Club
Social Gaming Club at Affinity Esports brings together players of all skill levels for shared play,
teamwork, and community. Each week features a rotating mix of games, friendly competition, team challenges, and time to connect with a familiar group. Select sessions introduce coached competitive-shooter fundamentals, while designated family sessions invite parents or caregivers to play alongside participants and better understand the games they enjoy. It is a welcoming, supervised place to build confidence, friendships, and positive gaming habits.
Youth Game Night
Youth Game Night at Affinity Esports is a supervised Friday evening for gaming, pizza, and time with friends. Players of all skill levels can explore a wide range of games, meet other young gamers, and enjoy friendly, low-pressure fun. It is an easy way to experience the Affinity community while parents and caregivers enjoy an evening of their own. Pizza and soft drinks are included.
Competitive Team Workshop and Tryouts
Competitive Team Workshop and Tryouts is the entry point to Affinity Esports Club Teams. Across two Saturdays, participants train and try out across the games we compete in: Fortnite (Squads and Duos), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Marvel Rivals, Minecraft Bedwars, Valorant, and Rocket League. Each session pairs coaching with live scrimmages, so participants practice communication, positioning, teamwork, practice habits, and sportsmanship. One registration covers all three Saturdays and participants may attend whichever sessions fit their schedule. No competitive experience is required. Coaches use these sessions to evaluate players for Club Team rosters and practice squads, and every participant receives feedback and clear next steps.
Winter Break Gamers’ Retreat
Winter Break Gamers’ Retreat is a four-day, full-day camp for the school vacation week. Each day rotates through gaming, creative projects, team challenges, and structured group activities, with breaks and free play built into the schedule. Campers practice teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, and problem-solving while meeting other young gamers in a supervised, welcoming space. All skill levels are welcome, no experience is required, and the week finishes with a friendly tournament and celebration. Campers bring a packed lunch each day; all computers, equipment, and software are provided.
No-School Day Camps (Brookfield Public Schools calendar)
When Brookfield Public Schools are closed or dismissed early, we are open. When school is out, we have you covered: a mini-camp on holidays and no-school days with video games, creative challenges, off-screen fun, healthy gaming habits, and plenty of time to hang out with friends. The dates below are the days our studio runs a camp that also fall on your district calendar, so they match what your families see from the schools.
Single-Day Camp, 9:00am to 3:00pm
A full studio day: structured gaming blocks, creative challenges, off-screen breaks and lunch time with friends, run by Affinity staff at the Newtown Studio.
Half-Day Camp, 1:30pm to 4:30pm
An early-dismissal afternoon at the studio: gaming blocks, a creative challenge and open play, with the same staff and structure as the full day. No care add-ons on half days.
